Airport
If you are an international guest, chances are you will be arriving to Jordan via Queen Alia International Airport. If your destination is Amman, you can take the Airport Express shuttle which will cost you about 4 Euros, or you can take the designated official airport taxi service which will cost you about 20 Euros. Hotels may have an airport shuttle so check with your hotel if they provide this service for free or at a discounted rate. Avoid taxi scams by not taking a taxi except through the designated airport taxi counter inside the airport arrival area. As for express bus, there is one around the hour by the designated bus stop outside the main terminal. As for trips from Amman to airport, Mumayyaz Taxi charges about 15 Euros from Amman to Airport, depending on your departure point. Mumayyaz Taxi can be reached from Jordan at 080022808.
Hotels
The festival's main event, which is the competition, will be held from Nov 11 - 14, 2009 at Mohtaraf Remaal in Lwebdeh. It's next to Feras Hotel (Tel. 064650404). Room rate is about 35 Euros per night. You can find other hotels at downtown Amman for as low as 15 Euros. Check Lonely Planet's section on Amman, Jordan for useful information on where to go for room and board and other useful tips.
Tourism
Most of our guests visit the Dead Sea and Petra. To visit the Dead Sea, special order taxi service called Mumayyaz Taxi (Tel. 080022808) will take you back and forth for about 35 Euros, depending on where in Dead Sea, and can wait for for you if you discuss and agree beforehand. Customs & Traditions
Jordan is a conservative country. Lwebdeh, a suburb of Amman where the festival's main event will take place, is a cultural hub and is known for its cosmopolitan crowds and diversity, due to the presence of many international NGO's and cultural organizations.
